I left Facebook a couple of years ago to pursue an "exciting" role that didn't really pan out (not where I'm working now). I've just wrapped up final inteviews with Uber (Seattle office), Dropbox (Austin office), and to return to Facebook (Austin office). Assuming I get offers from all three, any advice on which I should choose? I've read through so many posts here, but it's only making my decision more difficult. Note: Was an IC4 when I left FB, but was on track for promotion to IC5 when I left. Thanks all! #facebook #dropbox #uber
Fb if you’re feeling it. Else dropbox
Fb there is no other good choice
The only engineering team in Dropbox Austin I know of is custom engineering, do they have other engineering team now?
Good question - it's a People Ops role
Definitely FB, and definitely stay in Austin. Dropbox hasn’t been doing great lately and may not be growing much in the future. Last I read, FB backed out of a lease for a new space in Austin but I imagine they’ll be looking to expand there still. You should also interview for Google in Austin if you’re in People Ops. They have an awesome office and are leased an entire downtown skyscraper currently being built that they’ll expand into in 2022ish
thanks for the added details - this is helpful!
I would say FB for sure
When did you leave fb? Are you sure fb gives you IC5 given you left at IC4? It seems like you are not SWE? If I were you, I would choose the highest comp offer, and also taking wlb into consideration.
I left almost exactly two years ago. No guarantees that I’ll be brought in at IC5, but in the two years since I left FB I’ve moved into a lead role, so I hope they’ll take that into consideration. Thanks for the advice! FB and Dropbox are where I’m leaning right now... Dropbox is enticing due to the better WLB, but FB for everything else. Gonna be tough to choose!
Ofcourse FB. Uber and Dropbox are lower in league when compared to Facebook.
FB is not what it used to be and has lost it's prestige. Add on top of that the toxic culture and bad WLB which makes Uber and Dropbox a WAY better choice
And what tier is NIO?, Mr.Turd
