With Bay Area commutes sucking as bad as they do, is it frowned upon to work from home 2 days per week at FB? I’m told either “depends on the team” or “no, they like people to be on campus and only wfh when absolutely needed.” Would like to hear from FB employees as to the general consensus. Thanks!
Would like to know this too. It's easy to avoid morning rush hour, but not evening ones
That’s another aspect - does it look bad if you wfh a couple hours in the morning to avoid morning rush hour, go in say about 10am, and leave at 4pm to hopefully beat the worst of the evening commute? Does that give people the impression you’re a slacker even if you’re getting your work done and putting in a couple hours at home in the morning?
Wednesday is a frequent work from home day for many people. A second day could be hard to pull off, due to meetings.

Can't you avoid rush hours ? Usually tech companies have very flexible work hours. It's not a factory.
You are right. It’s a golden cage.
Lots of folks live in East Bay. To avoid rush hours they need to leave after 10am, this would reduce commute time to 1 hour. Evening time, the commute is 1.5 hrs, cannot avoid it unless you are OK to leave after 8 pm. So, even though we have flexible schedule, these times are not exactly convenient.
