I've been thinking about applying to Facebook but have concerns about the bootcamp. From what I could gather, it's several weeks long and only in a few cities. Problem is, I can't travel at all for a couple of months due to family situation. Is the bootcamp mandatory, or is there flexibility in the process? This is in Montreal, for ~E5 if that makes any difference.
F was super flexible with my start date. I'd say go ahead an interview, and when accepting the offer bring up your timing requirements. It shouldn't be a problem.
Talk w/recruiter, I had to push my first day 1 month, they had no problem. Bootcamp is a good opportunity to pick a good team, don’t pass on it, I guess they’d not let you skip them t anyway.

Mandatory; better to just bump your start date past that family situation.
I thought there was a remote option now?
