Hi folks, I am going to join facebook next month. I was wondering how team selection works in Facebook bootcamp? How easy/difficult is it to get your desired team? Are managers very choosy while taking you in their team or you get to choose whatever you want to work on? P.S. I am joining as E5 software engineer, interested in ML teams. TC coz people will ask: 420k for 1st year. ( including joining and performance bonus) breakdown: 200k base + 550k/4 stocks + 60k joining bonus + 15% (30k, meets all performance bonus) Yoe: 4 years
You get to choose what u r interested. Managers would like to woo u. Btw what’s the base and stocks breakup
What’s your 2nd year TC?
At E5, managers can get a little choosy. They say bootcamp isn’t a second interview, and that’s mostly true except when it isn’t. It’s usually a buyer’s market as far as ML roles go, though, especially if you don’t have strong previous ML experience.
There isn’t really anything to do to prepare. Teams will give you a task or two. Getting it/them done reasonably quickly is the best way to show you’ll succeed on the team.
Makes sense 👍
That's not how you report TC.
If you are not hired as an ML specialist, you most likely won't be able to get into ML teams. Also if you don't already have good ML experience, joining an ML team is screwing up yourself. At E5, the expectations are very high. Join a team where you think you would create a lot of impact. If you think ML is cool and you want to learn and hence join a team, you will be screwed.
How is the interview for ml engineers? I mean the only difference would be the design round right. How would it be
TC is 382k per year for the first 4 years. Why are E5 packages so high nowadays. It must suck for existing E5s.
degree and previous work&org at amazon?
