Facebook design recruiter reached out and never responded after multiple pings

Confused about the recruiting efforts of the Facebook design team...

Had a recruiter reach out to me mid-COVID. I never got a reply to my original response. I followed up when my convos with other companies were progressing. The recruiter got back to me immediately to schedule a phone call, apologized for the delay, followed up with job openings that matched my experience and interests, asked me what role I’d be interested in. I then followed up with the recruiter multiple times and got no response... I even took an extra step to reach out to the same recruiter and another on LinkedIn.

I’ve since accepted a new role at another company but am baffled as to how/why there was no followup or sense of courtesy to at least close the loop since I was the one reached out to... It’s a stark contrast to my interactions with FB design recruiters in previous years.

This has happened to other colleagues of mind as well... We have the impression that they’re just generally swamped and/or disorganized. Anyone have a similar experience with Facebook design recruiting? What’s going on over there?
