Why does fb need biz dev shouldn’t the leads be pouring like Bombay monsoon . Genuinely curious .
Same principle as with growth. Growth hacking is most effective at providing added value when you have a product that "grows itself " Biz dev is most effective with a product that sells itself
Business development is a Loose term which can be used to many ways. For example, FB bd roles can be responsible for building new business, developing go to market strategy, grow SMB sales which consists of majority of their revenue, or work with large enterprise accounts to increase advertising revenue, or build partnerships with other firms for strategic use cases or M&A. At Amazon, it’s vendor management or P/L owner of categories, on AWS side it’s sales professionals or account managers on Alexa side it’s category manager who are responsible for brining in new partners. At Microsoft, it’s Corp BD which runs partnerships, partner BD which builds partnership with other organizations, Hope this helps!
