  • They used a loop hole in the App Store to bypass terms and conditions by using the enterprise feature because the original app got blacklisted (how you can download your company specific apps for employees), secondly the approval for the under 18 year olds was a check box, nothing more - that is not enough for someone to assume a persons guardian/parents are aware what’s going on, let alone that they’re onboard with whoring their info. Also, these phones that are being monitored at the root level, are probably monitoring all correspondence with people who aren’t onboard with Facebook monitoring them - just cuz you get $20 doesn’t mean the other parties are cool with what Fb is doing. They done poo-poo’d the bed!

  • Unless they were lied to, there is anything wrong with what Facebook is doing.
Some dim wits have sy problem with this apparently because that don't understand basic legal principles, or think it is cool too criticize Facebook.

  • So... that’s bad because? They offered them money to do something - how is that a problem?

I really do hate Facebook, but, if these people consented to being monitored for money... sounds like user research to me.

Not sure how they’d enforce that when it sounds like you just download an app from the App Store? The parental controls would need to be at the device level I’d imagine. The article also stated the subjects were age 13-35.

    • There is parental approval required for under 17. It’s in the original article
