Hello, I have a Facebook product designer interview tomorrow. Recruiter has mentioned interview will be of two parts one portfolio review and another one being app critique . Does anyone here took the interview with FB recently? How will the app critique work? I have personally never done one, but I read few medium articles ... still a structure or any pointers on it will be helpful.. Thanks in advance
Remember to include: ia, ux, ui, and accessibility. Most likely they’ll let you choose an app so practice before the interview

How did your interview go? Any feedback for someone currently going through the process
It’s pure random. I was interviews by ads team and had portfolio review and app critique round. Portfolio review interviewer did not even pay attention nor ask questions . App critique round went really well and it was supposed to be with two interviewers and only one showed up who is a new hire and the actual one showed up during the last 10 min of that interview .
Did you make it to the next round? What kind of advice would you give for each round that you didn’t get?
I went through this process twice - for the portfolio review, choose a portfolio piece more visuals you can speak to. Facebook cares more about the finish project then the user research. For the app critique, I made the mistake of choosing an app that I really liked so it was difficult for me to speak about the negatives 🙄. Practice critiquing other apps and thinking of features you can add to improve the app. Second round I picked yelp which was easier to critique.
Did u get the offer?
Design (any famous app). Thanks Knowledge and depth expectations are based on your level
Thanks. It’s not design challenge, it’s app critique!
