Hello, I am going to start a new position at Facebook in Menlo Park and I will have to commute from SF I have been able to find information about shuttle stops and even schedules. But I haven't been able to find any information of how those buses look like inside. Do they have tray tables to work with laptop? Are they spacious enough to work properly? Do they get busy where you can't find a spot to seat? Is there any way to hang your laptop to the front seat to be able to work without looking down all the time? (Detachable screen laptop would be awesome for that case!) .I heard WiFi is slow, can you use your own hotspot instead on the bus to get faster connectivity? I have seen some FB shuttles in the streets and they look like seats are in groups of 4 with a table in the middle. Windows are tint so it is difficult to tell thought. Any picture of the inside of the shuttle? Thanks! TC ~350 10yoe
Can’t you hop on to a shuttle and answer most of the questions? Why seating arrangement in a commute bus matter you?

Thanks, but you can't access to a bus until you don't work there officially. I am a curios person. I like to plan ahead how my day is going to look like. I want to control my expectations. I am a. Engineer.. do you need any more reasons ? ;)
Shuttles suck for working if you have any kind of motion sickness. Having the shuttle driver drive fast on 101 while trying to read or code is barf city. But some people do it, so if you can, the more power to you.
Thanks! I already took into consideration that a shuttle is not the best place to work. But considering this is going to happen I want to try to do the best effort to be able to be productive.
Working on moving platform is not good for eyes.
are there washrooms on the shuttle?
I personally prefer working with the laptop on my lap instead of the tray table. The table is very unstable and shakes a lot.
I was thinking on buy/create something to hang my computer to the front seat and work with a small Bluetooth keyboard on the tray :D . Trying to do the best on the 3h comute!
I don't think it will work. Basically the tiniest bumps, vibrations and motions of the bus will cause the hanging screen to vibrate and move. You won't be able to see what's on the screen or you will get motion sickness very soon. Putting the computer on your lap will help absorb the vibrations so you computer screen will mostly stay still. But that's my experience and 2 cents anyways
I joined FB recently. Don't worry. They're nice. Some are different than others. Most have tray tables. Some don't. Most have a few actual tables in groups of 4.. Always have had a spot to sit, sometimes it's close tho. Ergos aren't great. You'll have to look down. Use your hotspot if you like, but I've been fine with shuttle WiFi. Thought I'd hate the commute but it's honestly fine.
Thanks for that constructive answer! Really appreciate it!
