Facebook vs Google for PM, bay area

I got offer to join Google and Facebook as product. Assume away compensation and the specific teams which of course matters.... Where will I be happier working g as a PM? Where do you see yourself staying for at least 5 years no brainier ? Notice I didn't like AWS, I don't mind working hard but I don't like random deadlines and constant operational type work. (i.e too many meetings, dealing with bug triaging all the time instead of future roadmaping and features ...) I enjoy working with eng and not being only outbound facing. Is FB to focused on short term and limited metrics. (active, engagement...) making it a bit too limited? Bay area.

May I please know the compensation at both places?

Not relevant to this question. I will post new compensation comparison when I get both (I got one specific numbers offer now)

No one can tell you where you'll be happier. Some people will prefer G and some will prefer FB. If you're young I'll say FB since there's higher chance of promotion (usually happens quicker too). If not just compare numbers since each company will be fairly similar. We have better food though šŸ˜‹

I've known PMs who transferred from Facebook to Google and I can tell you they're much much happier at Google.

Thanks. This is what I look for, a collection of anecdotal insights. If we get a bunch in this thread it might be insightful enough to help...

I have heard from folks who transferred from Google to FB that FB moves much faster and has a lot less red tape to deal with than Google. I think itā€™s more bottom up at FB as well. Havenā€™t worked at Google, but FB has the best culture of any company Iā€™ve ever worked for. Special place. (Iā€™m a PM.)

Do you feel happy getting into the office for your day? I can say that at AWS, I hated parking at the parking lot... Also, at Google I hear "I love the place" for FB I hear "I love it but they make you work hard". Just interesting I don't hear the "but" part from Google. What do you think about work hard part?

I work very hard and Iā€™m also very happy. Best job Iā€™ve had in my career.

How do you influence when you donā€™t have much power?
