Hi All, Can you suggest, for the Senior Software Engineer role, which of Facebook/Uber/Slack is a better choice? Comp wise, not a huge difference, though Slack is a bit generous in equity(which is not IPO like Uber). Also if you can share some insights for the following points for comparison, will be helpful: 1) Culture 2) technical learning 3) career growth 4) stock (Uber vs Slack when goes IPO vs FB) 5) WLB Please share the good and the bad. I can share TC for all 3, once I finalize one. Approx Range for TC 300-360K Role: Sr. Software engineer YOE: 8+ Years
Yoe?
Join Uber. You have a unique chance to experience the biggest IPO in the history of Bay Area.
Which team are you from. Care to share in PM?
Uber! It’s going to be a fun IPO, tech is amazing, so many super smart people to learn from. Culture is amazing thanks to Dara
Just curious why smth called "slack" is even considered?
Btw slack is fucked thanks to MICROSOFT
300k/8yoe won’t be “senior” at fb. More like e5. Both Uber and slack stock is paper now. If you leave before ipo it will remain paper.
Uber will give you better WLB and could mean more in stocks. Facebook may have a hard 2018 as the bad news doesn’t seem to stop. Both Uber and FB are good options though (don’t join slack)
Wouldn't that mean it's a good time to join?
Agreed It’s really between Uber and fb.
Probably better to repost when you have your TC
Added approx range just to give an idea
