I had about 6 interviews in the last 1 month Apple Uber Netflix Intuit LinkedIn Amazon Quora And failed all of them. Some phone, some on-site Ask me anything! Current TC - 300k
Why you interviewing outside at 300k TC?
Been long enough in retail and now bored
Dang, good luck mate

What happened with Uber ? Also for what roles?
Serious Software Engineer role. Failed on-site. Was told not senior enough as feedback
You were rejected cuz you were not serious enough!
Why do you think you failed? How do you think you can do better?
Lack of preparation mostly because of refusal to accept the existing interview process of asking dp/backtracking questions
Built high impactful systems at scale and have contributed massively to open source but most of it didn't seem to matter
How did you manage to get all these interviews?
Recruiters contacted me seeing my LinkedIn profile and GitHub commits
I still have open invites from Google, fb, Lyft, Dropbox, ripple etc
You still have many good choices, google, Facebook, Airbnb, Lyft, indeed, Pinterest, stripe... Even fail in all, you can try again next year. improve yourself and keep trying. You will find your dream job.
How do I get over my refusal to accept the interview process of dp & backtracking questions (genuinely asking)
Frankly most of them are probably using libraries that I have contributed to
Learn from mistakes. Analyze yourself what they asked and what you have answered.
Netflix feedback?
Did not write multi threading code as I asked for a reference book
It wasn't trivial code that was asked
My failures thus far this past year, roughly in chronological order. This includes HackerRank, phone screen, or on-site. Microsoft (not a team fit) 2 transfers in Amazon (I was already dev listed) Facebook Bittrex Finagraph Indeed Blackstone (twice) Lyft Uber BitGo Compass Google (on-site) Square (on-site) Airbnb (actually I declined the invite to redo the phone screen) Citadel (contractor) Microsoft (met the HM via direct referral, who wanted me to apply but ghosted me once I did) Oracle CI Millennium Management Two Sigma (I was too burned out to finish the HackerRank) PIMCO Bloomberg (contractor) Microsoft (failed graph problem on phone screen) Microsoft (failed an easy algo I could have normally done, but choked from the exhaust of doing this) I think that’s it. Plus many ignored applications via LinkedIn or direct, though not a ton because I don’t spam. I’ll keep this updated with my upcoming failures. I have 4 on the calendar right now. ** Update: I finally have an offer. I’ll be leaving Seattle and returning to NYC. Can’t reveal it here.
You want to leave Amazon that bad? The stock price is really good! Why?
