Hello Blind community! AWS Recruiter reached me offering to interview for an AWS Solutions Architect position in Santa Monica/CA. I did the interview last week and this week I got the e-mail with the decision saying they would not be moving forward. Since AWS has the policy of not providing feedback I would like to check if there would be someone familiar with AWS SA interview process would be able to help pointing out the top reasons people fail during the phone screening. I think I'm well aligned with AWS principles and it was not very difficult for me to answer the questions on the STAR format. I think some hesitation answering the technical part in a couple of questions possibly played a more important role in the decision of not moving forward. Anyway, would like to hear from you! Thanks! can you share what they asked?
I have a phone interview coming up. Can you type while you interview?
I'm not sure. I would ask the interviewer just before starting the interview if we don't get a answer from a Amazonian fellow here. The interviewer will be typing like crazy, so you might be have some moments were you would be able to do so.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?

Probably would help by giving more detail on the parts you hesitated on.
There was a question about how I could scale SQL databases. I tried explaining "sharding", but I think my explanation was crappy. Also couldn't elaborate other ways of scaling relational databases.
Vertical vs horizontal scaling in terms of sql vs nosql DBs. Short answer would have been vertically scaling (add more resources)
