I recently joined the company. First impression was that people are smart but condescending. After a few weeks I realized some people appeared self entitled and very fake. Some people left after a few months. Some work really hard and there is no work life balance. I don't think they pay that well. When I first interviewed, they were only selling candles on their wholesale site... Hope these smart people can figure it out. I don't know if i will stay for a year tbh.
Hey ! Is it really so bad? I was planning to reach out to them.
Might worth a shot. My personal experience might be different than others. It also depends on which role you are aiming for.
Your personal experience is the first hand experience :-). I would trust ( even though it’s blind! ).
That bad? Is the leadership condescending ? How’s the data org?
The leadership team is NOT but the "first few" hires are. Data team seems solid. They are friendly and know what they are doing. Data is very integrated with many other aspects of the business
I agree with the OP that some ppl are quite condescending, esp. a few of the early employees. middle management is inexperienced and broken. no work-life balance. I would not recommend working here.
Going to start interviews soon with the company for the Data team. How is the company org? Has your opinion changed over time? Is there path to leadership? Is Work life balance good after working from home so long?
Isn’t that company going to be dead soon given that business is moving online while they support local retailers?
the core business is somewhat rebounding (AKA, small local retailers are stocking up — but that doesn't mean end consumers are buying yet), but if COVID continues with rolling lockdowns and local retail doesn't rebound in the long run, Faire's stock options aren't going to be worth very much...
For anyone from Faire still around- I have an offer from Faire and wondering if things have changed since OP started this thread? Looks like they had good last funding round and lot of new mgmt folks joined
I thought they had a pretty cool idea and the kind of money they raised from the top tier VC validated that! Sad to know reality is different from perception. Perhaps thats what sells and created this illusion of brilliance. Good luck!
