Has anyone noticed new restaurants popping up with the same address as existing ones? The menu is mostly the same but with better pictures and the price is jacked up. Is this the new cloudless kitchen concept?
It’s not fake, they’re called cloud kitchens/ghost kitchens. Think of it like a kitchen who cook food but there’s no actual restaurant to sit and eat. Effective for restaurant owners to save on cost.
It's an actual restaurant alright.. but with different names.. checkout fire biryani
Be aware, some of these places has no health inspections and are just someone's house.
That’s completely false. They’re run out of existing restaurants that are subject to the same inspections as normal. They’re opened to fill a demand niche in the area, for example Thai restaurant sets up a virtual restaurant to do poke bowls because nobody else offers it, and there’s demand, and they have unused space for it in the kitchen. Restaurant gets more business, you get more selection, Uber gets more customers, it’s mutually beneficial.
lol no
There’s a ghost kitchen that operates out of Chuck E. Cheese called Pasqually’s that pretty much serves the same pizza. Mr. Beast also hopped on board by creating 300 Mr. Beast Burgers, operating *I think* from an Italian chain ... then there’s Mariah Carey’s cookie chain ... it’s definitely a thing!
I've noticed these too. It's like dropshipping. They're not separate restaurants at all, they're shell restaurants that actually order from another restaurant altogether. They steal the menus but organize them better and add really good pictures for each item. Prices are marked up a ton and they keep the difference.
I have seen those as well, also ones where it's just someone's house. If you don't know the place google it and use street view.
Called virtual restaurants
Read up on virtual restaurants.
Noticed it a lot recently with Indian restaurants. 3 restaurants with different names but same address
Bombay sandwich, Park-town pizza and there’s one more name - all three are same
