Fb HQ to Seattle

If you interview for California position then once you get an offer. Is it possible to get it for different location like Seattle? My recruiter is saying that she don't manage Seattle and I would not like to change the city due to California cost of living etc.? If anyone has done this in past please let me know! TC: 165k

Dev. Why?

I never understand these kinds of posts. Just be honest that you’re interested in Seattle from the beginning.

As if companies or the hiring committee is super transparent when trying to get you onboard.

Very true - but what is the point of withholding this information? Such a waste of time for both parties.

Depends on the team and circumstances but if there’s an option for cities for the role, it’s usually listed on the JD or the recruiter will mention. Agree with poster above: just tell them. Don’t waste anyone’s time, including your own, if you know CA is a dealbreaker.

You can't switch teams in the first year. If you interviewed for CA you'll be limited to picking teams there.
