I'm a PhD fresh graduate. What is the expected TC in the bay area? The position is research scientist. Also it's good if you can give a range.

RS and SWE pay structure is more or less same. I have no clear idea on package offered at FAIR; outside FAIR E4 offer can go up to 275k; I know a rockstar PhD intern who got around 350k joining as direct E5.
Are these numbers for AML ? Unless he/she had prior work exp. getting E5 directly is actually too good. E4 stretching to 275k( counting only base, rsu and cash bonus) is a stretch but if you are really good and the interview went really well and the team really wants you then its possible.
Yes, the rockstar intern I referred worked with the company for 2 years before joining (his PhD works include works he done over internship and follow-up research at academia). He joined AML. E4 datapoint got 400k equity + 160k base + 100k signon (non-intern)
