Feel like getting fired after I went to HR

I was really unhappy with my team and manager as I was the only girl in the team and they were acting like a boy's team. (I might be wrong) but I felt that way and then people won't include me on many things and I started to feel left out. I approached my manager but he was not helpful so I went to HR. Since that day I feel that my manager and the team is trying to get rid of me. Although I did not complain about my manager but only about the team, their behavior changed for few weeks but now I am being asked many questions every time on every task. I also stopped hanging out with the team at lunches so that I can keep my mind stable but didn't help. And just few days back I was not able to complete 1 task and the manager told me that your performance is not good in year end review. I feel now that they will fire me coz I went to HR and try to prove that my performance is bad. Not sure if this is the right channel to ask but any help would be really great thanks!!

How were they acting like a boys team?

They will discuss things behind my back and just let me know once they all have reached a technical decision. Even though I was leading that task. And then I have domain knowledge about few things on the product but they will get together and spend hours to figure out an issue which was like 2m job for me. And when asked in stand up as why they didn't ask me, they will say that didn't wanna disturb you.

Girl, I am a bearded men, and that happens to me as well. You just have to speak up, and not think its due to you having a vagina. Going to HR is a nuclear option. Also, not sitting with the team in the lunch.

Documentation is your friend here. Document your successful projects and also the behavior that you have been complaining about.

File a complaint with your state Department of Fair Employment too, especially if your HR isn't really helping & is making things worse.

It really is not worth fighting it out with your team. Either change the team or the company.

Thanks I was thinking of changing the team but my manager could say bad things about my performance (now again I am overthinking -ve stuff) maybe that won't happen...

Funny how those things happen to me every week but I'm not a woman nor a minority so nobody cares

Try being a female employee who is having a female supervisor attempting to do the same thing to you. Yes, there is such a thing as Toxic Femininity. The knife cuts both ways.

Women are the best at keeping other women down, sadly.

Stop trying to blame this on your gender.

Retaliation will get them in trouble but it is not unexpected. Honestly, going to HR introduces problems. They are not on your side. The ONLY things that merits going to HR is if you felt harrassed or unfairly treated.

Microsoft IPSEC Jul 10, 2018

“(I might be wrong) but I felt this way” It doesn’t matter how you feel, only facts matter. And even if you were right about their behavior you could be very wrong about why they are doing it (ie gender). It could be you. Anyway going to HR is not a good idea

Intercom MEhQ81 Jul 10, 2018

Not strictly true. How the act(s) made her feel is legitimate.

Google fuckubay Jul 10, 2018

U went to HR, team lost trust in you basically. Time to leave

Microsoft BFpd35 Jul 10, 2018

Leave that team ASAP.
