Trying to leave Deloitte as I really dislike it here. Interviewed at DoorDash through the final round and for rejected. No feedback. Waited 4 months for them to reject me. Interviewed at ServiceNow through the final round and got rejected. No feedback either. Just a rejection email. I have a strong finance and consulting background but can’t seem to get an offer. I am feeling so down. I am underpaid at Deloitte and starting feel frustrated daily with work. I want better for myself. I am highly motivated to make a move. Any advice? Tips? Sigh #Doordash #servicenow #hiring #recruiting #corpfinance #finance

The end of Backdoor Roth?!
There are lot of people who was not able to secure a good job. Feel better that you have a job that is paying you. To make you better I was working for one fourth of my current salary for 7 years before I got this.
Appreciate it!
What is your current TC and YOE?
YOE is 6 and TC is $80k. I know I am underpaid significantly
Are you a SWE? Have you thought applying for TSE positions at servicenow?
Advice is to apply for multiple positions at ServiceNow. Sometimes timing isn’t right or there’s an internal candidate. This is how two of my referrals were hired. They applied for at least 3 reqs.
Thank you!
Even the best ppl in tech can only clear 20-40% of interviews they give. Just keep applying, try to improve weaker areas, repeat. These skills will stay with you for very long time, so this work is not throwaway.
I got to the final round at Uber, Google, Oracle and a finance company in the past 6 months. Got dinged at all of them. Got an offer at Amazon though. Just keep plugging away.
How is it working at Amazon? Is it really that bad? In AWS? I have interviews coming up with them
I’m at AWS. So far so good.
DM me if you need tips/help
Apply more I was in a similar situation to you. Except I had an only accounting background. The feedback I kept getting was that I didn’t have enough tech experience and Corp finance experience. So what I did was go apply to a bunch of places to break into a financial analyst- corp finance role. Built some skills up there for a year and a half and now I’m currently at a 200 person tech start up working in finance and strategy.
Thank you!
Hi jeezy1027, I’m from the same background. Mind me DM you for advice?
It's really difficult for non-tech folks to get into tech. I personally referred a few and all of them got rejected at the resume round. You made to final rounds which means you are close. I would keep trying and apply more.
