I have 3.5+ years of FP&A experience. Overall 6+ corporate finance experience. My current title is Specialist of FP&A, I manage an entire P&L and I’m target a new role at the Manager level. I constantly keep getting bites, interviews. I have made it to final round over 5 times now and seem to get rejected at the last stage. Any advice? And target comp I should set for FP&A Manager in NYC with my background? TC: 90-95 #corpfinance #finance #fpa
Have you considered working on your writing style? That might be a concern.
Have you considered providing some tips?
Have you considered leading by example?
I feel you on this , I’m on the same boat at 6/6 final interviews no offers. As many have suggested, final interviews are almost luck to be liked or not. Keep your head up! You got this on the next one.
I was in the exact same spot as you OP. Interviewed 12 times.. then doubled my TTC for the same title. Have faith. Keep grinding
Widen your search. I am in Bay Area. Sr manager corp fp&a. Tc: 285k manager I hired was offered 210k
Does your team hire?
Also don’t ever think the interviews are a waste. It hones you and makes you think of quick scenarios on your next interviews!
In a Senior FPA level role (2.5 YOE) at Capital one with 103k base in DC area. Manager level should be atleast 130k-140k for my org - for reference
Jeez, I’m an SFA in Tysons at $150 TC hoping to get a bump as a Fin Mgr somewhere.
My team at Amazon is hiring if you want another bite.
Hi there..... I got yo the final round for Sr. Financial Analyst in Amazon..... it was a great experience but last round of interviews were brutal.... still I would love to join it.... working on my next try!!!
Sounds good. Shoot me a DM I may have an opportunity for you.
What experience do you have with ERP and EPM softwares? That was one thing holding me back, as the companies I worked for would exclusively build in Excel. I got to final round interviews and the feedback was that everyone loved me, but I didn’t have experience in Hyperion/Planful/Adaptive/etc. I was finally able to get a manger role last month because they liked my experience with Netsuite. Now able to learn planful and soon switching over to Workday Adaptive. TC: $150K YOE: 7.5 Manager FP&A
Mother of god, why? Pick up a real tool - OneStream, Oracle, or gtfoh
Or even better pickup tech job
I know most companies don’t give feedback but can you sense what part of it might be the issue? Is it behavioral questions, the STAR format or maybe situational questions that trip you up?
Have you asked for honest feedback? Not just what HR says but like reached out to interviewers offline
