Finance jobs that make the world a better place

I'm sick and tired of working for rich people and making them richer...I mean it was fun for awhile but I want to use my brain to bring actual change...This might be an early morning crisis moment but are there any finance jobs or companies that actually make employees feel like they are doing good? Any up and coming startups or b-corps that are bringing about change for the better or helping people who really need financial advice/help?

Lol fuck no. You aren't making anything or adding value. You either gamble in the stock market and win by taking other peoples' money or swap hard earned cash for stock certificates, or you participate in usury. You wana actually make a difference? Make something.

I guess the best thing to do would be to advocate for funding investment into other companies that do good. It's indirect but it's the closest you can get

+1 it feels good empowering everyday folks to start businesses and it’s rewarding seeing them succeed and grow by using our tools.

Unfortunately its difficult when dealing in Finance to seperate yourself from those that are rich and greedy. Best thing to do is swap the way you look at what you do. Example. "I currently stand between my clients and the greedy investment world trying to avoid them getting taken advantage of. I help my clients invest in the markets without taking excessive risk. I do this by buying into businesses and concepts that help make the world a better place. Think of yourself as the guard preventing your clients from getting hurt by bigger and stronger people. A financial architect of sorts. Look up Garrett Gunderson. Dont reinvent the wheel, reinvent your thought process

You should start yourself a financial services company in that direction

The only alternative to make someone else rich is to make yourself rich. Build something.

False. Capital is by definition a medium of exchange, a tool, not a functional value system.

What exactly do you do at Chase? S/T? PWM? IB? There are a few ways to do the right thing in each of these. In particular, I’d check out the FinTech space. You get a lot of creative solutions and jobs you didn’t know existed. I’ve had the same dilemma as you. Message me if you want to talk more.

Surprised to see Bloomberg not mentioned yet. 90% of the company's profits go to Bloomberg Philanthropies, which is dedicated to saving and improving lives around the world. There is a strong sense of community engagement culture within the company.
