Getting interviews for Research Engineer at DeepMind?

Dec 2, 2020 12 Comments

I recently came across a few open positions for Research Engineer at the DeepMind London office on LinkedIn. The job posts said it's entry-level and does not require a master's degree(though having one is preferred) and I was wondering how does one's resume look like for those getting invited for the interview?

I've seen undergraduates working at DM straight after finishing a bachelor's degree but almost all of them have done internships at G/FB/DM before and went to a top-tier uni. Wondering if this is true for all candidates?

We take people from many backgrounds; specific internships not required. Masters does help, but I don't have one.

    • I see. Thanks for the clarification! I applied through the career website already. Hope I would get a call for an interview.

Hi @Google, do you know what to expect in the ML rounds for RE position? I have the ML rounds coming up in a few days.

The prep doc says they ask probing questions to gauge depth and breadth of ML knowledge. Also, there might be some coding involved too.

The probability they will ignore you will be quite large.

    • TRUE. I only had a MS research internship & few other SDE internships so probably the wouldn’t even look at my resume. My friends said you have to intern at G/DM before to get a call as an undergrad so that’s why I’m asking here lol
