What other companies in BayArea have the following comparable to or better than Cisco? 1) Flexible work timings (by this I literally mean your manager doesn’t care about what time you come to and leave the office or working from home as long as you are getting the work done and attend meetings). 2) Benefits (not the regular ones or stocks or money related but like “time to give”, “Emergency time out” etc). P.S: Cisco was recently announced as the no.1 Best place to work by Great Place to Work. Thanks !!
Did you ever miss CISCO because of WLB or are you happy that you are making more money at Google?
Adobe has unlimited PTO, summer and holiday shutdowns, volunteer time-off, great maternity and paternity leave (and for mothers, a phase-back-into-work after maternity leave), one-month bereavement, and decent education and training dollars.
What does the phase back into work program for mothers look like?
It’s for 120 days upon return. The type of plan depends on what you and your manager agree upon.
Some more senior teams at Uber. U also get the benefit of good TC
Statements like these without sources linked or even mentioned piss me off “P.S: Cisco was recently announced as the no.1 Best place to work by Great Place to Work.”
Ever heard of a search engine
Oh that’s great. So from now on no citation needed. We claim results. And when anyone asks to link study or experiment or paper. We say search it biatch! Is that what u r implying? It’s called burden of proof. When u claim something u provide the needed sources.
New grad here. Enjoying my time at Cisco so far. Great workplace and WLB. Unsure about the future tho.
Big Switch Networks has excellent WLB. Unlimited PTO, flexible hours, virtually unlimited WFH options, excellent health benefits with nearly fully employer funded HSA, retirement match, 6mo maternity leave, free/catered lunch daily. Managers are super understanding about family matters that take priority over being in the office. You can also travel for potentially weeks at a time and work remotely as long as you get your work done.
Nice ad you going there.
Cisco has great WLB and if you are in some of the core products the work is also good. there is enough time to learn stuff and change your area completely (and time = money). However it’s a very big company and there are some slower pockets too. Your experience is a function of your immediate management and peers. Company culture is super supportive when there is a serious personal issue.

Cisco-alum here, high-five on the WLB part! Who announced btw?
My bad, let me edit that... it’s the no.1 best places to work by Great Place to Work. Link here https://www.greatplacetowork.com/certified-company/1000064
None of the bay area companies has Cisco-like WLB.
