Hi, i am a CS graduate with 6 years of Python experience. I am currently working for a bank as contractor and looking to make a switch to tech companies.
I never lied in my interviews about what I know & I see friends/acquaintances in my college & university I know are progressing in life making good money with out dedicating that much of time. I am happy for their success. May be because they got their job in Bay Area, they have exposure and chances to move around tech companies.
I recently attended Kickstart webinars and they are training people to get get into FAANG. I want to check with experts if it’s worth.
I am having very less self confidence, which is kind of a scaring me. Any kind of help/advice is really appreciated.

Id recommend taking a stab at leetcode and start recognizing the common patterns in the questions (two pointers, dp, bfs/dfs, etc) and building a strong fundamental of data structures and algos (know when to use a queue, stack, dictionary etc)
In tech interviews, my personal opinion is that u should be humble but also be confident in what u say so I’d suggest practice mock interviews (both technical and behavioral), if ur not confident when explaining ur code and past experiences then very likely the interviewer would not be confident in ur skill set either (the key here is to be humble but also show urself off)
SWE is a pretty lucrative career with good benefits, I’d say give urself some time and really study up on what I mentioned above and leetcode a lot
Then why would you care about lying ?
