    The thing now is that every Tom, Dick, and Shitpoe in every large tech company will be thinking about how they can get publicity, fame, and dollar$ by twisting confidential internal stuff that they barely know anything about and have no context on into some Big Tech is Evil narrative and calling themselves a whistleblower. It's fundamentally bad for all of us who work in this industry, long term.

      Good is expected behavior. So there is nothing to go to headline. It is the bad that is the problem.

      Person could cry "evil" but data won't lie. In case of law suit, if bank can show that they were consistent with their policy without looking at race, they should be fine.

      Freedom of speech even without FB is picture is a misunderstood space. There is never a absolute freedom of speech. The inherent problem with FB is that they give a open space to put any sort of information. It can be fake or malicious. N then it also provides a way to share it. N one can hide behind computer screen without much repercussions.

      Facebook should come up with a policy and apply that consistently to everyone. The problem is, facebook does not want to do that because they might be classified as publisher. They dont want that to help with legal issues. In short, FB does not want to be held accountable for the information or activities that occur on that platform.

    • We have that content policy, anything explicitly violated laws are being taken down promptly.

      It is more nuanced with conservative views though. Conservatives think they get censored by FB, and liberals think FB doesn’t censor enough. If you think people should not anti vaccine, then pass some law to ban it. Eventually it is the politicians to use FB as scapegoat for their own failure

  • What kind of loser culture we have in this country. Someone comes out and exposes shit a company is doing, and we instead of being thankful, mistrust their motivations. No wonder we have shit load of inequality and oligopoly. US is becoming so much like asian culture of me not do good, let me not let others do good.

    • Why is it obvious? What behavior/data made you say that? Anyone who comes out with such info will get publicity. There is a reason why there are bounties on sec for whistle blowers. Is she is self serving what about all morons who work in despicable companies? They are also as despicable selling souls for money instead of fame. With that measure everyone (myself included) is despicable. She is at least serving greater good in worse case.
