I've been looking for a free to low cost Crypto Trading platform, but all roads lead to Coinbase and Coinbase pro. Looking into these, their fees are on the higher side. Does anyone have recommendations for low cost to free Crypto Trading platforms?
Binance
Voyager Digital. They hide the fee in the bid ask spread, but it's still lower than Coinbase. They offer a ton of alt and shit coins too if you want to gamble on those. However, their infrastructure sucks. They went down from the Dogecoin pump and dump hype. New sign ups are put on a wait list. They are also publicly traded in the OTC markets VYGVF if you want to catch the crypto brokerage hype before Coinbase goes public.
Buy using Coinbase Pro or Gemini. They are in crypto world for long time and they follow best security practices. Fees are 0.5% or less, which is ntg for crypto, they swing several % everyday. Read abt crypto exchange hacks like Mt gox, bitfinex, etc, then you will avoid looking for cheap exchange and buy from a retuable one. Also avoid robinhood, u can't withdraw. Who knows even rh owns crypto In first place, even if they did imagine they getting hacked. Coinbase and gemini do have insurance for their hot wallets.
This is helpful. One more question, do they charge the fees when buying Crypto or also when selling?
For both u have to pay the fees
Robinhood.
I've read that with RH you don't actually own the Crypto but rather just the investment value. Though, security wise is it as safe as other wallets?
No idea. I just trade cryptos on robinhood sometimes.
