Canada arrests the CFO of Huawei and plans to extradite her to US on charges of violating American sanctions on trading with Iran. Does anyone see the multiple layers of injustice here? Imagine if Pakistan arrested the CFO of Google for doing business with Taiwan which violated Chinese sanctions against Taiwan. What a brazen violation of human rights and act of aggression. Yet some US politicians have the gall to call Chinese trading with Iran “aggression”. Whatever you think of Iran, this is an outrage. No nation has the right to force its will on another nation like this. American totalitarianism over the rest of the world needs to confrontés and stopped NOW! No to US imperialism! No to violation of sovereignty! No to violation of human rights! Free Meng Wanzhou NOW!
America has always been double standard so she's probably going to be held as hostage for the trade negotiation. At the meantime, let's enjoy the stock market plunge and the profits we can make via the put options.
Dude when things get worse,no amount of money can save your ass🤦♀️, no one really wins here
US: - run Guantanamo Bay detention camps for Muslims - Invaded Afghanistan, Iraq, Lybia and Syria in past 10 years and caused massive casualty and waves of refugees - Fly drones in Pakistan and bombed civilians - Sell billions of $ of weapons to Saudi Islamist regime for their human rights violation. Let's see which one is more evil?
The Xinjiang issue has been propagandize just like that used against Iraq, Iran, Syria, Russia and other US enemies of the day. But even if we accept the Xinjiang situation as you described wholeheartedly, do you think China would be more justified or less justified if it started extraditing foreigners from third countries into those camps because they broke Chinese law? I for one would not think that is justified.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/25/us/politics/china-exit-ban.html China did this first by not letting American citizens leave China to lure their dad back in the country.
That might not be right but at least China did not put the children in jail or charge them with any crime. It simply prevents them from leaving China, which may be bad, but explicitly said the kids were innocent.
Chinese governments argument was that since they used Chinese national IDs while in China, they are Chinese nationals. Not saying I buy this argument, just offering a different perspective. US media don't tell is everything
That's the whole point of extradition treaties. If you commit a crime that one country feels is serious enough, they can get you arrested in another country with an extradition treaty then sent to face the charges against you. If you don't want to get caught by that, you have two options: either don't commit any crimes, or if you do, don't go to any countries with an extradition treaty that could get you to face the charges levied against you. Also, you still get a trial, so it's not as if it's go straight to prison, do not pass go, nor collect $200.
Makes sense.
It doesn't make any sense. Iran sanction was lifted by Obama so Huawei traded with Iran. Then Trump imposed the arbitrary sanction against Iran and now accuses Huawei of the violation of sanction that didn't even exist at that time.
They did when there was no sanction against Iran under Obama. Trump just put the arbitrary sanction and charges someone of the "crime" that used to be completely legal when they did it.
There is no proof if any trade with Iran occurred after controversial sanction, which is btw opposed by lots of US allies, was imposed. I don't really care anything about Huawei and the CFO. The fact is that Trump's aggressive move is going to escalate the trade negotiation and put America in a bad spot. Just watch the stock plunge when the market opens.
I don’t like huawei, they treat their employees like slaves.
I don't like Huawei, either. But that doesn't justify Trump administration's stupid move. It's just going to escalate the trade war.
Does anyone see a problem with America coercing third countries to serve as their accomplice in bullying Iran? Some people might see a parallel with what China does vis a vis Taiwan, but how outraged do you think people would be if China arrested non Taiwanese for selling arms to Taiwan?
You dodged my question because you realized that what America did here is heinous and indefensible. Instead, your comment is further unjustified insinuation against China. It also betrays your belief in might is right. Not just my friend.
Wow Equity you failed to address any of my logic so you side step it, attack my intelligence, and finally make serious attacks against Iran and China governments. Guess what, Iran’s government thinks America’s government is a great satan, and lots of people find the governments of China and Iran perfectly legitimate so your arguments about what is the greater good needs a whole lot more support. China extradites people for breaking Chinese law within Chinas jurisdiction, unlike in this case with Meng. Insulting the thinking skills of your rival when you can’t address their points is a logical fallacy and I do recall that it is a favored tactic of the American government. My loyalties are none of your business.
It's better than how American police just directly shot and killed innocent unarmed black people, which far outnumbered human rights activists detained by Chinese police. Let's stay on-message with CNN.
250 human rights lawyer crackdown, which doesn't lead to any death, in a nation of 1.3 billion people compared with 40 KILLINGS of innocent citizens in a nation of 330 million people. You do the math and tell me which one is worse. In addition to domestic killings, US military has caused massive casualty and waves of refugees in the middle East. China hasn't bombed any foreign country in the past 10 years at least.
