There seem to be a number of open positions for JavaScript engineers at Apple. A few on the Siri team, embedded JS, and Apple Music. What do these teams work on? Is JavaScript taken seriously at Apple? The company isn't exactly known for JavaScript these days.
Companies have roles just for JavaScript?
Yes frontend engineers
I would like to know the answer too, as I’m a primarily full stack JavaScript engineer
Yes, JavaScript is taken seriously at Apple. We have JS only engineers all around. Apple has seat in TC39 and we all can propose ideas for next ES version. Yes, Apple doesn’t contribute much to Open Source, however, we have our own internal JavaScript community where we contribute a lot.
To be known for JavaScript you need to contribute to open source, which is not Apple’s style.
