I'm in the process of buying a new construction house in the Bay Area and right now its just a wood frame. A few days ago I did a walkthrough and noticed that a bunch of the wood in the house had black stains on it and my first instinct is that this may be mold. I told the builder and they are adamant that this is normal and that it can't be mold because it's been sunny and warm the past week although I know that it did rain a couple of weeks ago. Right now I'm pretty unsure if this is actually a serious problem or not, but I'm definitely concerned.
I took a few pictures of the problem areas and was wondering if anybody has knowledge or experience with something like this and can provide some advice on what they think this is and what I should do about this? #housing
