How can FAANG enforce you don’t violate their insider trading policies by trading options on company stock?

How could they know you’re buying or selling calls in your own brokerage account?

Has anybody done this knowing this would violate insider trading policy?

  • Ive seen 2 indictments from department of justice this year.

    Couple from amazon in seattle
A group of asian dudes from netflix

They all got caught insider trading with options. SEC nailed them. As i remember all of them got 2+ jail time and lost more than they made.

SEC has your employer info and trades, catching insider trading is easier than u think. Couple of sql queries, youll be a sitting duck. They also check relatives. Also if they suspect you and your partner in crime will get investigated. When u go into that investigation room itll be a coin flip on who will crack first.

Insider Trading as an Employee, SEC: “ridiculous! This will not be tolerated”

Insider trading as Nancy Pelosi, SEC: “it’s a free market”.

I'd be less worried about FAANG than the SEC

Companies don’t enforce this. They just tell you the rules that SEC will enforce. If SEC audits you, you won’t be able to play the dumbass card and say “but my company didn’t stop me from doing it”. It’s all on you.
