Can someone at #facebook tell me what the difference is in terms of wlb and career growth at facebook between m1 and e6? How difficult is it for e6 to transfer to m1 role? Thanks

Career growth for both is solid in terms of making the next level, but if you think 2 more levels are in the cards for you, odds are better for the M1 than the E6. The pyramid narrows quite sharply for both, but more so for the E ladder, due to there being less business need for large numbers of high level ICs. There’s difficulty finding the right scope to make E8 or E9.
That being said, the best advice here is probably to follow your passion. I know great E8s who would never have made D1, and D1s who couldn’t hack it at E8, so picking the ladder you’re more suited for will take you further.
