I accepted a job at Amazon with the condition that I get full maternity leave benefits. After a few weeks, the director who told me I’d be eligible for full benefits even if I wasn’t there for the full year resigned, but told my new manager about the promise. When it came time to enroll in the benefit, HR called me and said the director had no authority to make that promise and revoked it. I went from 24 weeks of mat leave at my previous company, to 20 at Amazon, and now down to 14, 4 of which I have to take before the baby is even born or I lose it. So I’m not spending 10 weeks with my baby instead of 24. Has anyone had a similar experience or one where they got to keep the full 20 weeks without being there for a year? Really frustrated and angry about this experience and am considering leaving after mat leave is over.

"If you really want to help OP, then her situation is the Amazon's fault" I don't even understand what you want to say here. If you mean I should +1 to Google's response and that somehow will help OP, I'm sorry I still don't understand how that will help. I provided a solution in a separate response and that I think will help in short term and long term OP can figure out their career move.
Having a baby is a once in a lifetime unique experience and don’t let Amazon ruin it for you.
If you have anything in written save those, might come in handy if you decide to go the legal route tomorrow.
