I heard lyft raised 2.6B so far, but their latest valuation is 7.6B. The multiple is less than 3, so it seems really odd... For example, Pinterest raised 1.4B with 11B valuation ans Uber raised 9B with almost 70B valuation now. Does that mean something? Should that be factored in when valuing lyft offer?
Lyft has given up tons of equity in some rounds (>20%). Ex: Series E 530MM @ 2.5B valuation.
Uber has had 4 flat rounds in a row so it's not all roses for Uber employees who've joined in the past 2 years
Just to be more accurate, 2 flat rounds. One is follow-up G round, one is part of deal with Didi
why are you leaving Pinterest?
lol everybody seems to be asking that. does the market believe in pinterest ipo more than other companies? i meant ipo that hold more than 11b+ value after the lockout.
it depends on the ad metics and how promising they look. Pinterest folks are all gung-ho about it here, maybe they are the pr people out in blind
I think that really only matters for people who had equity from before those rounds that was diluted a bit more than usual. Our last round was pretty low dilution. Valuation increased 27% (pre-money) and share price increased 20%.
Uber has raised more than $16B including stocks and loan.
oh then crunchbase number doesnt seem to be right
