It's funny. I actually have defended interviewees that failed leetcode questions because I don't think they're good indicators of signal. And I'm working with recruiting to make our process better for candidates.
I'm simply pointing out your ignorant statement that: I had one bad experience with one engineer at Snap who may or may not still be there. Therefore, their company is full of self righteous engineers.
Are you telling me that there is not one self righteous engineer at oracle? Because if so then you can shut the fuck up with your wide sweeping ignorant statements.
If you realize that your statement is fucking dumb and want help to prep for our interview in the future, let me know. I'd be glad to help. Or if you had a bad interview experience and actually want to be helpful, then I'd be glad to report it so we can remove the interviewer or retrain them.
Or if you just want to whine because joining the hype train is the cool thing to do then you can also shut the fuck up. I've reported bad interviewers to companies before so they can retrain people. If you don't help the problem then you have no grounds to whine.
P.s. "You got triggered" is weird to say when you obviously are the triggered one 🤷♀️. Our interview cooldown is only a year. You can reapply again.
See this is what I mean. You people think you’re the best, smartest, most compassionate people on God’s earth, that you can change the world like angels with a shitty app. This kind of passive aggressive behavior is what pisses me off more than anything.
That’s why you can’t handle even one ounce of criticism from a stranger on the internet, you need constant positive reinforcement, people telling you how smart you are, how rich you are, how pretty you are so that you can bestow your “””help””” to them. So when someone doesn’t conform to that your mind immediately short circuits. “How dare he talk shit about MY dear company?”
Anyway thanks for your offer for “help” lmao. I’m doing just fine and am interviewing at other places soon. Hope you enjoy your life working at a “prestigious” company and feeling better than us plebs.
Ads market will do fine. Honestly it's stupid for Snap to whine about Apple's restriction during earnings call, which costed them -30% of their stock and after-hours decline for FB, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. Snap is not profitable, so they could be overvalued - but overall ads market will do fine in a long run imo
You do realize Facebook has been saying the same thing? It's not just snap lol. Literally all apps based on ad revenue are going to run into this issue.
Re: snap should be more profitable than this - how? We don't allow for users to say what they like. We aren't Facebook where people literally say they like Lysol as a way to push ads to them. Users use us for filters and snaps. Some watch shows which still aren't good indicators of them liking Doritos.
We intentionally don't try to scrape and find user's interests outside of the things they interact with in the app. So I'd say snap is doing pretty good considering that. People who achieve FBs level of ARPU are doing insanely shady things with users privacy to target ads better.
Only platforms where Ads are tolerable are Amazon website and YouTube because they are highly relevant to what User is looking at. Snap and Fb are Spamming Ads - totally useless and irrelevant, users just scroll through those ads and often leave the App itself with Ad fatigue and no usefulness. Fb is monetizing billions of visitors by selling their data to advertisers who hope it helps sell their products if they micro target.
Because just last week I saw 3 recipe’s 1 DIY project and countless music videos and didn’t mind seeing ads through those, I get the usefulness of the platform, consume the media and look at the ads. On Fb or Insta - I just quit the app.

1. That's up to your company to figure out - the primary goal for a public company is to make profit and return to shareholders
2. idk if you read or watch other earnings call, but companies usually don't say stupid things that costs them 30% of stock value over night
