Just quit last month and am about to start applying for SWE. Should I start applying now and try to get all my interviewing in before the holidays, or wait until January? I’m not sure if a gap on my resume would affect my chances.
Edit: I’m a US citizen and cost of living for 2 months w/o a job isn’t a concern.

So if a H1B holder is laid off, they are f**ked?
That is so unfair. Tech might be okay, but this is so scary for other fields where job security isn’t top notch.
Idk how reliable this website is.
On the flipside, applying in January gives you time to prepare and maybe get the much needed time off.
