Hi all, hope you guys are doing great. I'm currently in the late stage of interview with Google - the team matching phase. This is for a SWE position. The recruiter has told me that I passed the HC stage at this point. How long does this process usually take? What are my chances of getting rejected at this stage? I am quite open in terms of location (4 possible locations) and overall pretty open to joining most teams as well so I am hoping that will increase my chance and speed of me finding a team.
I do have a competing offer from Microsoft currently. It's a borderline exploding offer since they only give me a week to decide and it's set to expire mid this week. The team matching phase with Google has only been started. I do want to work at Google more than Microsoft. What do you think I should do in this situation? Should I politely decline Microsoft offer and go through Google team matching process or should I take the bird in hand right now and accept Microsoft offer? I'm feeling very conflicted as Google is my dream company but giving up a "sure" thing for a "maybe" thing feels very risky.
Another background is that I do have a full time job right now, so I'm in no rush to get into either company right now but I do want to get into one of them for sure in the next 6 months. Thank you in advance!

You can always leave in first few weeks. Having a bad impression is not worse than losing an opportunity.
If you're feeling guilty
Just imagine what would a company do.
They always reject people saying we went with someone else right in middle of the process for no reason
Always take the offer. If you have to reneg later on to take the Google offer, so be it.
