Any current CEs out there able to speak to hitting bonus numbers? I am in negotiation right now and when I spoke to my recruiter Friday (first time talking about comp) she sounded a bit surprised by my TC target expectations. I based it on the fact that I don't see the 42.85% bonus as guaranteed money unless the target is properly adjusted to current market share and conditions for GCP etc. She wouldn't share a single thing about what the band is, or why my number was considered high but "would work on it". Haven't heard back from her. This is a L6 position (or was going into HC, I forgot to ask if any downleveling happened, but her initial feedback was interviews were "stellar"). I'm assuming I'm in a low COL area (not major metro like LA/SF/NYC/CHI). I looked at it more like "Here's my current TC without my variable comp that isn't guaranteed" + a bump as part of a job change, the bonus is a nice to have. Hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot.
What was your offer? Is this for a CE manager?
I don't have an offer yet. We only talked about expectations. Non manager role.
Thanks - I’m assuming these conversations around comp all happened after your interviews?
Also GCP is so new that there are not many data points to see what is achievable. However they are growing fast and I won't be surprised that you will be able to beat the targets.
I heard targets are unrealistic. Would like to know or have an idea about what they are.

Just checking back on the thread, did you accept the offer ? I am in a similar situation and they are offering 15% lower base than I currently get but the relocation is from Tier 1 city to tier 2 city. Even though TC will be about 10% higher, I am not very comfortable with the numbers.

Perfect, thanks for that. May need to reframe my expectations. There are non-monetary benefits I'm weighing as well (like not having to travel every week). I just wish it was a little more transparent process.
