Got asked by a recruiter, is this a good move? Want to know what’s the CSE culture, work, future...etc
No
It's pretty bad since the last year. Engineering atrophy is a huge concern here. SWEs are not developing any real code. Most of it is yaml. The recent trend is a ton of devs are leaving CSE but as PMs in product groups because they can't crack the interviews for internal moves. Joining CSE now would be a career suicide.
Would you mind elaborating more? Have an onsite coming up, I have good impression with previous interviewers but now I'm concerned.
DM me if you have any specific questions. I'm leaving CSE next week as well.
Cse is not part of engineering btw. They are dev teams under sales that focus on demos and some engineering works for select customers. It's a pretty good org.
Isn’t CSE an offshoot of CSEO formerly MSIT?
No, CSEO is core services Engineering Operations, they never worked for select customers. They worked internally on Microsoft sales, Finance and compliance systems. CSE is something completely different than CSEO
