Hi,

Anyone able to shine some light into either industry and the stability for a long career?

I'm currently in my final rounds of interviews at an HD/SSD/storage company (think Samsung, Micron, Hynix) and Rivian for both for a role in HW (Mech E). If things keep going well, I think I can expect to get offers from both. I like both industries (SSD vs EV) but I am not sure which would be the best career choice in the long run.

I haven't received any TC yet, but I think they would be in relatively similar range. I'm honestly not focused that much on TC since I'm going for entry level roles. But I do care about future career growth, which would ideally lead to better TC in the future.

I'm pretty early in my career, focused in HW Quality and Rel. about 3 YOE (including internships).
You can say I'm not decided yet on which industry I like best. Honestly I like both and both teams that I've interviewed with seem well structured and a good fit for me.

My dilemma is partly :
1. Rivian is a startup (technically), and its future is unpredictable, although it seems to look positive at the moment.
2. SSD/storage industry - It's more established, but I don't know if it'll lead to a good career growth.
3. I am planning to get married soon and hopefully start a family. (not sure if relevant, but I'm Female and will be the breadwinner of my family) I want to commit to a career/company I can stay with for at least 5-10 yrs and grow into a senior role.

tldr: Entry level engineer looking for career advice in choosing between HD/SSD/Storage industry vs EV startup. Not focused on TC, focused on a stable long career.

**edit: using Apple friend's account, I'm a recent grad**
