I don't really want to sell my house, which went up $1mil since I bought it two years ago, according to Zillow.

But what can I do to profit from the bubble? I think at least house prices will grow less than inflation and may go down

How do I make a bet on that without the hassle of selling my house?

  • This isn’t a housing bubble. It is a rise in prices based on a lack of supply, strong economy, and inflation. The 2006-2008 bubble was caused by speculation and people without solid incomes buying houses with no money down. Other than rising prices, do you have any reason to believe there is speculation or lending standards have dropped? The last jobs report was very strong and house prices aren’t as inflated as they appear to be when you consider the Biden inflation problem. Your house needs to go up 10% this year just to maintain its value given inflation. Think about that…

I agree to some extent but there is an increased purchase by investors. In many reports, they are buying up 20%. The problem with them is they can simply go broke and have many houses out with foreclosure. That will slow down or lower the market values. But I don’t know how much impact they will have.

You don't have to trade on everything in life. Especially on something as low conviction and high leverage as this

Hope you understand this one day

I can't even see how you would. I looked at REITs, even so called Single Family Home REITS are not tracking house prices.

So is there even a way?

You can take a line of credit and probably bet on the housing market going down. That way you could profit from the "bubble"
