I have kind of severe form of mandibular Prognathism. The doctor said that if I do not do the surgery till 30 I will loose most of my teeth. I am 25 and lost like 6 teeth. The surgery consists of cutting the upper maxilary and advancing it, then cutting the lower maxilar and fixing it in titanium plates.

I am scared like hell. I do not have confidence issue with how I look, on the contrary, I think I look pretty good. But I am starting to loose more and more teeth and the doctor said that I won't be able to get implants because of that Prognathism.

I am curios, are there people in similar condition who did the surgery?

I don't have your condition but had significant dental surgery in my 20's to fix my bite and bring down permanent teeth that did not erupt on their own. In addition to having my jaw wired shut, I wore braces for the next 4.5 years. It was a good decision; 25 years later I still have all my teeth.

Yes on the baby teeth, OP. When I had the bite surgery the oral surgeon attached little chains to the unerupted permanent teeth that the Orthodontist used to bring the teeth into place. That is why the braces were on so long. It really was worth the effort.
