Wanting to build my own startup

I've been having ideas and have plenty of people interested with the projects I propose. I've started to look at introducing myself to VCs or some startup firm but they all recommend personal introductions.

My network is pretty bad because I'm generally not that social at work. I have some people in my circles but have always felt people are nice to me only to extract some value. Nothing is ever genuine.

Besides that, where should I go to pitch my idea and get some seed capital?

Picture yourself 10 years from now. The growth, potential, market, success you can gain in those years while loving every bit of the energy you put into it. If you think you’ll feel the regret not starting tonight - then I say you start.

That’s true and your hustle is only respected by you. But you need to understand that if it was that easy everybody would be doing it.
Knowledge is cheap these days (with all these online courses/ classes etc) and everyone comes up with amazing ideas everyday. But the ones that put in effort on even the most average of ideas are the ones that can truly make it happen.
I support you my friend. Tunnel vision into it, what have you got to lose anyways. Give it your best and if it doesn’t succeed then you have only learned 10X the things you would if you stayed at any job.

“Extract some value” what are you? An orange? You are thinking too much about yourself.

Almost everyone who talks to me usually wants me to pay them for something. Or they want me to architect their idea, or implement their idea.

Basically it's a one way street, "extract some value" is more generic way of saying I'll be friendly but they really are friendly to me because they want help.

Do you have 10 paying customers ? You pitch products to customers not VC. Once you have those initial paying cohort seed funding will be easier .

Very good point. At the end of the day if an idea is great a customer will pay for it, and it shall only convince VCs later that you already have a market attraction. Unless his idea needs quite a lot of money to materialize

If you can round up customers start that way. And keep on going. It sounds like networking and socializing isn’t something you love doing. That’s an important trait for launching a growing biz. If you can do something entirely on your own or with a few friends, I’d definitely go that route. You can always sell the IP later, and far less hassle than building a biz IMO.
