Hello Blinders,
I am an L5 with about 6 years at Amazon. At the moment, I am in AWS. I am really burned out and looking for a change. I would have moved internally (did not mind my previous team in retail) but my TC is low - 230K and dropping a little bit more next year. I have failed a few onsites at other desirable places. I did manage to get an L4 Uber offer. I am wondering if its worth the jump?
Uber is offering first year TC around 340k.
The most important factor for me is WLB. I have a small kid and I am unable to work outside of 9-5. I dont want to completely slack either, avg work week 35-40 hours is what I am looking for with decent time off. Is uber worth jumping for?
Other Qs:
Is it okay to stay at L4 level for a while without the pressure to get promoted? I don’t want to get in that grind while my kid is small.
I still have a few nice places left to interview. Microsoft, Spotify, DataDog, Dropbox. I have already scheduled some of them early next year. Keep interviewing?

Uber is prone to layoffs and when they layoff they go by the logic of FIFO.
I have an offer from Uber but I don't trust the Dara who laid off employees even before the pandemic when things were looking good. I don't know if Uber can become profitable at all especially since they are getting dragged into courts for regularizing their drivers.
I would advise stick it out for a few more months and interview at other stable companies
Typically scores are between 1-1.75.
