One of AI gods who won Turing Award says Caterpillars extract nutrients which are then converted into butterflies. People have extracted billions of nuggets of understanding and GPT-4 is humanity's butterfly. https://twitter.com/geoffreyhinton/status/1635739459764322330?s=20
Issue is not current GPT 4 or Google PaLM but emergence of AI wars that will lead to very huge improvement in such models up until a point where laws of diminishing returns kick in
This World economy moving from knowledge to narration. You don’t need knowledge organised for humans but for machines. Large language models are example of machines using knowledge for creating things.
I fear the capability of such future model(s) that will take away lot of low paying jobs
I can see GPT4 already replacing so many jobs and possibly robots having PalmE doing low paying laborious work
I am coding things myself now via chatgpt that I’ve previously paid consultants for. GG.
Google is done, sold all my $GOOG
Google is not massively but still undervalued by slight margin. What OpenAI is doing is no magic and can be replicated. Google and Facebook are the only ones with both brains and resources to create future such things
End game for who? I am of the opinion generative AI component of gpt4 should harm Adobe revenue as well. What do people think ?
I read on YouTube a few months back that artists are concerned that Adobe might be using their images in creative cloud to train a genAI model. This can be huge if it is true, imagine genAI powered Photoshop that is able to separate layers
And this AI belongs to the US. That's why russia and China are so pissed off. They know this is the end. In 10 years, if you don't have AI - you're out of the game

Which would you rather be at the end of your career?
Not sure if Google has something similar in pipeline or not. Hopefully there is or God save my $GOOG.
Google does but OpenAI executes super fast. Maybe they have been building it for many years and launching it on a schedule
What do we have in pipeline? Are you talking about PaLM?
