GSS to Product Management
Would getting an MBA degree help someone with an MS degree and 5 yoe in GSS transition into Product Management? Any other ways?
Become a subject matter expert and apply at places like Splunk or Zendesk. You don’t need an MBA for that.
Thanks. When you say become Subject Matter Expert for an external product, do you just mean build a MVP app using their APIs to prove expertise? Any suggestions please?

Nothing is impossible. You have to find some mentors and a way to get what you want.
An MBA can help. Just a teeny tiny bit though.. not worth the time and money if you’re simply looking to transition into Product. Try moving laterally into Sales Engg or Product Marketing. You’ll have a better shot of moving into Product from there.
What is GSS? You don’t need an MBA for product management.
