Joined Google late last year, hoping for a nice first refresh. My understanding is that the size of the refresh depends on base and your perf ratings for the year. What would be a good rule of thumb/ballpark for refresh (as % of base) and averaged perf rating? E.g. CME: 45%, EE: 50%, etc
Doesn't have to do with current base, just level and perf rating (people with much higher bases than me had same refresh with good ratings). At L4, average perf ratings should get a 70-80k refresh over 4 years.
Oh I had no idea. But that makes sense now that go/prosper wants a $ not a % of base. Any ballparks of typical base increase?
Base increase depends on where in the band you are, and how good your perf ratings are. As long as you get good perf, you should get solid increase. If you get average perf, but are low on the band, you'll get good increase too. If you get average perf, and are higher on the band, the increase won't be much. L4 band is from like 142k-170k, I'm at the very bottom (142k got promoed midyear), so I expect a CME this cycle and like 3-5% increase in base. I know an L4 teammate last year who got a ~7-8% increase from 152k to 165k last year with EE SEE ratings.
f(ladder, level, perf) + g(manager tweak)
Depends on level too
Yes, whoops, that should be a column
