Hi everyone,
I am a student looking for internships, and so far I have received two offers for summer internships from Amazon (Bay Area, don't know which team) and Snap (SF likely), and in the meantime, I am on project search stage for Google (internship). Can I ask for some input on which one to go with?
I am an international student, and will be having three year OPT(STEM-Extension). Due to covid, my main goal of doing internship is to get a return offer, and I am leaning towards Snap for now.

note: Snapโ€™s ddl is approaching and google is still doing team matching.

Having worked @ google as an intern will open more doors for full time than Snapchat or amazon

I heard that from some friends as well but I am concerned about the return rate. Google will ask for two more rounds of interviews for conversion. Also, I heard google doesnโ€™t have a lot of headcount for conversions. I love google for sure but covid makes me hesitate๐Ÿ˜ณ

Thereโ€™s no guarantee for full time from any company, however you get to choose how you want to set yourself up for when/if you need to apply for full time.

  • Snap is the safer choice. It's possible that you might even get matched to a project at google or not get a return offer (due to intern performance or poor conversion interviews)

Also, I feel itโ€™s so hard to get in google. Getting an intern offer is already one step closer... I fear that I might regret if I donโ€™t choose the internship at google lol

If itโ€™s the internship then Google for sure. Looks much better on resume. You can always come to Snap later. They will welcome you if you have Google on the resume.

Amazon gives 80% offer to interns. You have to be really bad or unlucky not to get an offer from Amazon. Google I heard is reverse, only 1 out of 4 gets an offer.

Internship experience doesnโ€™t count, so having Google internship on resume may not give you much edge. Not converting your internship to offer is generally considered as negative.

snap if you want an actual shot at return offer. what good will google internship do if you need to interview again for full tjme anyways and arguably all 3 companies share a fairly similar weight on a resume. I would do either snap or amazon, unless youre fine with interviewing for full time during this time
