Trend to reward loyalty

I hope the trend changes one day when tech companies will start giving 10+, 20+, 5+ year bonuses to reward loyalty, instead of throwing them under the bus and rewarding fresh hires. Will it happen?

If you want to turn out like Boeing sure. Maybe you can even start promoting people based on years of experience instead of performance too, and have 50+ all running the show because of their loyalty

  • Company loyalty is stupid. They will fire you the moment they are able. When I see a long tenured employee who isn't rising through the ranks, I see someone who is content in their position(which is fine, not everyone wants to run the show) or is too scared to leave.

  • It already happens...based on performance, not tenure luckily

  • So expect a 5 year hire to become useless in future but instead pay twice to get a new hire with 2 years exp? Why? And the same story repeats again for the new hire in 5 years ....
