Recently interviewed with two Core OS teams in Apple (virtual onsite for San Diego position) consisting of 7 rounds.
I felt I did good, coding rounds went really well. I was able to code and get the expected result within few minutes, and they kept giving me multiple coding assignments in each round and I didn’t fail in any of them. Behavioral was good as well.
The panel as well as the hiring manager were happy and none of them showed any sign of disappointment.
But in the end I got reject from both the teams after few days. Recruiter mentioned it was tough decision for the team.
Wondering where I might have gone wrong.
I never discussed the salary expectation or level before. What wrong am I doing ?
Edit: Recruiters from other sister Core OS teams are asking me to interview. This tells me that the feedback was not negative. But I don’t think i have the energy to go through the 7 rounds again.

Yeah it sucks and you spent all that time and energy just to get a rejection but these things happen. Nothing you did wrong, but the game is the game.
What’s important is that you did well (from what it sounds like), felt confident in your abilities, and possibly learned a thing or two about yourself and what you want to do in the next phase of your career.
Keep your chin up, consider this good practice, and gear up for the next set of interviews I’m sure you’ll be able to line up easily. You’ve got this!
Whereas for G and Meta, if you pass you pass.
