What do you guys usually tells recruiters when asked about gaps in your resume? I have two related job positions when I’m applying for SDE roles but they weren’t right after each other. Do they usually ask? TC: 🥜
Took a long vacation for travel Took care of sick family member Had surgery and needed time to recover. So many possible explanations
Vacationing.
🌴 At Amazon, that's usually code and Slack status for being Pipped and taking FMLA!
Amazon started using slack? What happened to chime?
imo if a recruiter asks for it, it's a red flag. it is none of their business, really. If you really need this job, tell them something - travel, tried to build a new venture, etc
Exactly. Avoid this kind of recruiters or companies. They are insane.
Freelancing....
Tell them the truth. You were doing OnlyFans
Shhhh, they not ready for that
Tell them you were crushing it
I have a 5 years gap on my resume. I was doing startups / small apps. One worked for a while (revenue generating) the rest not. No problem getting interviews. You can stay: ‘tried to launch a startup’ etc.
I too have a 4 years gap. Was preparing for a highly competitive government job. But, it did not work. Don't know what to write in resume.
How did you guys handle health insurance?

Side project, taking care of personal things, travel, the usual. They usually only ask if you’re currently unemployed, or if the gap is big
